"Memory could not be read" error using the TAL Bar Code ActiveX control or Bar Code DLLs on a PC with Microsoft Visual Studio.Net installed

Background:

When trying to use the any of the products listed above (versions shipped prior to December 6, 2001) on a PC with Microsoft Visual Studio.Net installed you may receive the following error message:

Instruction at XXXXXXXXX referenced Memory at 0X00000XX. The memory could not be read.

The program then terminates.

Solution:

This problem has was fixed December 6th 2001. Contact Taltech to obtain updated files. (Replacement files will only be issued to registered customers with a valid Serial Number).

If you are experiencing this problem with a demo version of one of these products, uninstall it, then download and install the latest Demo version.
