WinWedge – Windows 11 Compatibility

WinWedge Versions for Windows 11:

If you’re planning to upgrade to Windows 11, your older WinWedge software may stop working properly in “Keystroke Mode” – disrupting data collection from your scales, balances, gages, sensors, meters, and other RS232, USB or Ethernet-connected measuring devices.

The Good News: We’ve solved this with our latest Windows 11-compatible versions, and we’re offering existing customers a 50% upgrade discount.

Realtime Data Collection from your Scales, Balances, Gages, Sensors, Meters, etc. works perfectly in Windows 11 with new versions:

Without upgrading, your older WinWedge software may be unable to input data from your RS232, USB or Ethernet-connected devices into Excel and other applications on Windows 11.

NOTES: Upgrading WinWedge for Windows 11

Older versions of WinWedge – purchased prior to 2025 – may not be able to send data as KEYSTROKES to some Windows 11 application programs (i.e. Excel) depending on the workstation hardware and the application. There is no specific criteria that would indicate what software, hardware or Windows 11 version causes the issues. This is only an issue in Windows 11.

If you currently own an older version of WinWedge (prior to 2025) and you are upgrading your PC to Windows 11, we recommend upgrading WinWedge too. However, if you wish you can also try using your existing version of WinWedge on the new Windows 11 workstation and see if it works. Please note that we have not found any issues with older versions of WinWedge in DDE mode (Dynamic Data Exchange) in Windows 11.

Licensing:

Please note that WinWedge is licensed on a per-workstation basis therefore if you need to run WinWedge on more than one workstation, you would need to purchase a license for each workstation.

Please verify you have purchased the correct number of existing licenses when transferring WinWedge to new Windows 11 PCs.

NOTE: Just because WinWedge is running on a PC does not mean that you automatically have a license for that PC. If you are not sure contact sales@taltech.com for your license details.
