The Smithsonian Institute

  • Transparent to the end user
  • Extremely easy to use for any level of user
  • No additional hardware required

The SoftwareWedge for DOS (DOSWedge) is being used in an exhibition called "The Information Age" at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. Visitors wishing to participate in the interactive exhibits are supplied with a personalized barcode label. At each interactive display the barcode is read with an RS232 output scanner and DOSWedge inputs the data into a computer application. This application then acts on this personal information to provide visitors with a detailed summery listing of all the exhibits they have interacted with at the exhibition. DOSWedge has been in continuous, successful operation at the Smithsonian since early 1990.

Testimonials

"TALtech Bar Code ActiveX Control has all the features necessary to easily add professional-quality bar codes to Windows applications. A well designed product that produces professional bar codes that print quickly and scan accurately. TALtech provides example code within VB projects, and you also get sample VBA applications in Access, Excel and Word. I would like to see more OCX publishers follow TALtech's example."

"There is not a person I would rather recommend to someone than you. Boy, if every support person was like you, people would have to learn to speak without curse words, the average blood pressure of users/customers would drop significantly, etc.. I'd be more than happy to talk with any potential users (of TALtech software)."
